Fire Text Effect in Photoshop

Learn how to create a fire text effect in photoshop using the blending options with simple texture, shadow and overlay techniques.

Start with a large white canvas, in your layers window make a new layer set and name it Fire Glass Text Effect. Now type your name, use font Berlin Sans FB Demi, bold, 60 pt, crisp and #A15700 for color

Step one:
Start with a large white canvas, in your layers window make a new layer set and name it Fire Glass Text Effect. Now type your name, use font Berlin Sans FB Demi, bold, 60 pt, crisp and #A15700 for color.

Step two:
With your step one text layer add the following layer styles:

Step three:
In a new text layer type your name again with a black color above the first.

Step four:
With your step three text layer, set the blending mode to lighten and add the following layer styles:

Step five:
One more time add another text layer with your name in black.

Step six:
With your step three text layer, set the blending mode to lighten and add the following layer styles:

    I read similar article also named xt Effect in Photoshop | TutorialHell.com - Free Photoshop Tutorials, and it was completely different. Personally, I agree with you more, because this article makes a little bit more sense for me

    O.K. this didn’t even come close to working for me. How the heck are you supposed to type on top of existing text from a different layer without it switching to that layer? It just doesn’t work. Not to mention that the stroke step in Step 4 isn’t able to access a color palette to add that color you have on there. I’ve done quite a few of these & I don’t understand why this one isn’t working. I’m using Photoshop CS 3 for the Mac - but it isn’t that much different than what you’ve got here. Help?
