In this tutorial you will learn how easily you could create a dancing text effect in Photoshop CS2 suitable for getting the attention and for music sites. While many people know that they can create warped text effects using Photoshop, many others don't know that they could easily animate this effect.
  1. Create a new image in Photoshop (Ctrl + N) and set white as background color.
  2. Select the "Horizontal Type Tool" or press (T) and type the word that you want to animate.

  3. To make your text look beautiful, select the text layer, click "Add a layer style" located at the bottom of the layers window then choose "Gradient Overlay".
  4. Choose Reflected as Style, click on the gradient color to open the Gradient Editor then choose any one of the presets, I chose Orange, Yellow, Orange, deleted the right orange slider then moved the Yellow slider to the right.

  6. Now let's make this text dance, show the animation window by clicking Window > Animation, you should have an Animation window with one frame.
  7. Click "Duplicated selected frames" located at the bottom of the Animation window and select frame 2.
  8. If not selected, select the "Horizontal Type Tool" again then select the desired warped text effect -like Wave effect- by clicking the "Create warped text" located at the top Photoshop tool bar then click Ok.

  9. In the Animation window, click frame 1, click "Duplicate selected frames" from the bottom of the Animation window then move frame 2 to the far right, you should have three frames now with the warped text effect on frame 2.
  10. Select frame 1, click "Tweens animation frames" at the bottom of the Animation window, accept the default Tween window options to add five frames then click Ok.
  11. Click frame 7 (the one before the last one) then repeat the previous step again to create another five frames.
  12. Click File > Save for web and save the result file as gif file format.
