Using Photoshop Curves Exposes Hidden Last Supper Colors

This tutorial shows how you can apply the Photoshop "Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves" to bring out the hidden colors in Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper" painting. Once applied, you can then tweak the curves so the colors will change to show details not seen before. This image is a scan of the original Last Supper painting by Leonardo da Vinci.

You can download the larger zipped image here which is 797x421 pixels and in .JPG format so you can get better clarity when editing.

You will be amazed at what you will find - some levels appear to show hidden objects while other levels appear to show maps like the image below when zoomed in. The highlighted white box appears to be a map of Africa in the painting. Following this tutorial with the original size image will give you the best clarity to look for hidden items. As you can see from the image below, these hidden colors are concentrated in certain areas and not randomly placed all over the image. Deciphering the colors is the tricky part.

1. Open the image in Photoshop and click "Ctrl+J" to duplicate the image layer.

2. Now click on Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves and set all of the curves like the images below.

3. Your final image will look like the image above with the white box where you can zoom in and look at what the hidden colors have to show.
